Child and adolescent presentations of trauma may differ from adults, in that they may not disclose their distress (please see this page for general information on Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma). I have many years of experience working with children suffering with PTSD following war, fire, terrorism and witnessing death, using trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy (tf-CBT) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).
Together, we can make your child feel safer, adopt strategies to reduce the fear and disconnectedness they may be feeling, and restructure some of the negative emotions they may have. This will be through proven methods, tailored to be child-friendly.
Please note that I offer this clinical work through home visits only, rather than online Skype therapy, and am able to travel within a reasonable distance of Central London.
